During the examination, you will be asked to lie comfortably or sit in a relaxed position while a vascular technologist places small photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors on several fingers. Blood pressure cuffs may also be placed on your upper arms, forearms, or wrists to obtain additional circulation measurements when needed.
The examination begins with blood flow measurements while your hands are warm and at rest.
